AGEPASS Meta Exhibition
“The condensation of thought, the drama of time.”

The Meta-Exhibition brings together two previous completed projects — <AGEPASS> and <The Sun of the 21st Century> (Across 2000) — into a meaningful dialogue. It condenses the transformations in China in past 35 years, alongside the first 24 hours of humanity’s entry into the 21st century across the world into a single poetic moment.

The Meta-Exhibition fuses aesthetic philosophy, technology, and interdisciplinary research into one unified experience. It integrates cinematic art, CG design, AIGC technology, sound symbolism, algorithmic programming, intelligent cloud systems, augmented reality, cloud databases, and big data into a deeply immersive multimedia presentation. Audiences enter an “ideational space-time” — a meditative environment of heaven, earth, and humanity — where they can experience and contemplate the meaning of AGEPASS, engaging in reflection and inquiry about the human worldview.

Through its AGEPASS private database and AIGC-driven systems, the Meta-Exhibition enables interactive co-creation between the artwork itself and its audience, transforming the AGEPASS system into an evolving, living organism — one that continuously generates new forms of AGEPASS in collaboration with humanity.

About AGEPASS Project

Spanning the entire Yellow River and Beijing as its spatial scope, the AGEPASS Project approaches its subject through the perspectives of anthropology, geology, environmental studies, and sociology. It explores themes of humanity, environment, climate, history, culture, production, livelihood, and social structure. Representative “content sampling points” were selected across these domains. From 1990 to 2025, the project conducted multiple rounds of thematic and systematic image and sound sampling through on-site filming and recording.

Multiple rounds of filming were completed along the Yellow River and throughout urban Beijing from 1990-2025. This project captured nearly 200,000 feet of 35mm film, over 1,000 minutes of 4K digital footage, over 30,000 slides and photographs, and more than 400 hours of behind-the-scenes documentary material.
